Patience, Vision and Adaptability
Mondays are my dedicated planning days—so yesterday I mapped out the week ahead, tackling the never-ending to-do lists for personal and professional projects. Yet, let’s be honest: it’s virtually impossible to get through everything, from the mundane to the extraordinary.
In my corporate days, I lived the "hurry up and wait" culture—working frantically to meet yesterday's deadline, often pulling all-nighters, only for the project to be shelved hours or days before launch. While there's undeniable value in the lessons from those half-abandoned projects, I've come to appreciate the insights gained from endeavors that take time—sometimes a lifetime.
Consider the long-term masterpieces: La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. These sacred spaces remind us that transformative works often span generations. They require patience, vision, and adaptability to embrace evolving technologies, artistic styles, and societal needs.
Not everything on our to-do lists needs to be finished today. The lesson is clear: some pursuits are worth undertaking not for immediate gratification but for their lasting, profound impact.
